Matt Cain Season of Avengance

Matt Cain is finally having the season that many Giants fans have been waiting for. So far Cain is 5-1 with a 2.40 ERA. These are All-Star type numbers as the kid is on pace to win 20 games. It has been a great sight to see especially for Matt Cain who has gone through the hardships of lack of run support the past few seasons. In fact, the past two seasons Cain is 15-30 with a 3.69 ERA. This year Cain has been much more than that taking over the stopper role from Tim Lincecum. After a Giants loss, Cain is 4-0 with a .60 ERA. Thats straight nasty. It has been a long coming for Cain who has pitched for many years in the big leagues maturing year in year out. His confidence bodes that of a ten year veteran. We saw that last year as quality start after quality start Cain would pitch and not see one run of support. The losses tallied up but Cain continued to go out their and pitch day in day out with the same attitude as a fifteen game winner. His development comes at a perfect time after his name had been thrown around in multiple trade talks as the Giants try to secure another offensive threat to stimulate this offense. High-Level executives within the Giants organization have stated that Cain is now untouchable as he is far to valuable for the Giants. This news came after many people speculated that a Cain for Dan Uggla trade could be in the works. Looks more like if the Marlins really want Matt Cain it would take Hanley Ramirez, which I doubt would ever happen. As for now lets just hope Matt Cain can keep it up and lead himself to his first ever All-Star appearance.
